I donno about you guys, but when I saw this posted on mmo-champion I got an erection greater than any erection ever seen before.
Blizzard announced today on WoW.com that the Cataclysm beta is now going live.
*Update* The NDA is also (assumed) to be lifted. MMO-Champion now has a huge post started with a shitton of info on Cata. You can find their post here.
Invites are going out now and they'll be sending them out in waves like previous betas. Note that the keys are being done differently this year: if you get accepted for the beta, it will be added DIRECTLY to your battle.net account. If you get an email saying it has a beta key in it for you, be careful: it might be scam. There will be a LOT of scam emails going out now that this is official. Just keep your eyes peeled :)
Also note that in order to qualify for getting a beta invite, you must Op-in via your battle.net account. In order to do this, read the following instructions:
- Log into your World of Warcraft via battle.net
- Directly under "Manage My Games" there will be several links. Click the one that says "Beta Profile Settings" (I'm not sure if that direct link will work to get you there).
- Check the required check boxes, download and run the system scan they ask you to do.
After that, you're all set. If you get chosen you'll be able to see via "Manage My Games" on Battle.net. They WILL send you an email, however as I mentioned above I suggest not looking for your invite via email. Just periodically check Battle.net for the safest way to keep updated.
